She also acknowledges that we are primarily unconscious based on the findings of neuroscience. By connecting to nature, we can connect to the unconscious contents of our being revealing repressed material and ancestral influences. Nature has a deep relationship with the unconscious because it is not altered by the conditioning of our ego which is the dominating force of the conscious mind. The further we move away from nature, the more we lose connection with our soul and spirit.

Astrology recognizes that nature, i.e. the cosmos in this case, is influencing our emotions, thoughts, and behaviors at all times, and that our birth chart is a blue print for understanding our most authentic nature and life purpose. By combining Vedic Astrology and Jungian psychological tools, Kara has developed a system of psychological and spiritual insight that helps people become more conscious of the unconscious patterns and influences from birth to today. While we cannot control everything in life, the more conscious we become about ourselves first, the less we are in the grips of fate.
